Marshfields School

Marshfields School is a specialist school for children and young people with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), providing an ambitious and highly personalised education for learners with a range of learning difficulties and additional needs.

At Marshfields, we believe that every learner is unique. Every child has strengths, interests, aspirations and potential, and our responsibility is to recognise these qualities and provide the right educational experience to enable them to achieve, belong and thrive.

Teaching, curriculum, assessment and support are personalised through our four curriculum Pathways:

These pathways recognise that children and young people learn, communicate, regulate and engage in different ways. They enable us to provide an ambitious curriculum that is appropriately matched to each learner's developmental stage while maintaining high expectations for everyone.

Our provision combines high-quality adaptive teaching with communication-rich environments, positive relationships, therapeutic and relational practice, evidence-informed interventions and specialist support where this is required.

Preparation for Adulthood begins from the point a learner joins Marshfields. Throughout their time with us, students are supported to develop communication, independence, resilience, confidence, relationships and the practical skills they will need for life beyond school.

Our ambition is that every learner leaves Marshfields having made meaningful progress from their individual starting point and equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence required for their next stage of education and adult life.
