After School Archery Club (ASAC)

Archery Club is a new and exciting after school club which began on Tuesday 28th January 2009.  The club runs every Wednesday from 3.30pm to 5.30pm (term time only). The club is currently open to students in Years 9, 10 & 11, who wish to find out more about the sport of archery and to develop their own personal skills. Developing these new skills will help them to achieve greater self-discipline and will help boost their confidence.

Archery is a social sport, so students will also have the opportunity to develop new and existing friendships within a safe and secure environment. Learning the intricate skills of archery will also go towards their D of E Award ('skills' section).

Students have already learnt how to help set up the equipment and prepare the range ready for shooting, and some are already showing promising shooting skills.

During the coming sessions students will learn about different styles of archery, improve their own personal shooting techniques, learn how to score rounds, play shooting games and practise their individual skills.
