Age Concern
Marshfields School was approached by Age Concern and asked if we could assist in the making and delivering of Christmas Hampers. During the weeks running up to Christmas, we arranged tin collections and a 'Christmas Card' competition. We were overwhelmed by the generous response of our pupils and staff.
The winning Christmas card designers were Sharon Turner, Tom Graham, Soraia Neves, Holly Mason and David Tomkins.

In December we assembled and delivered 430 hampers to senior citizens around Peterborough.

Each hamper also contained a Christmas card designed and handwritten by a Marshfields student. Despite the snow, by the end of term all hampers had been delivered.

In serving the local community our students learned valuable lessons about caring for others. Here are some of the comments from the recipients of the hampers . . .
“I was thrilled to receive the parcel. I had just come out of hospital and it was a lifesaver. I am most grateful”
(Mr. Shepperson)
