Year 7 Visit to Space Centre
Friday, the 14th March was a ‘space’ day for year 7 students at Marshfields. As part of their Science topic “All about Space,” the students have all been fact- finding about planets in our solar system and thinking about what they would need to pack to survive in space.
At the Space Centre, their learning from the classroom was extended in a BIG way, with the opportunity to look at space vehicles and realise that to travel to space you must get used to being quite cramped. Year 7 students were not impressed with the food sachets and much prefer their home cooked food!
Our visit to the "Night Sky" production in the theatre was a shock to many students who then saw how small planet Earth is in relation to our solar system and space as a whole.
Year 7 students will continue with this topic in Science over the next couple of weeks and I look forward to seeing how much they have remembered from our day. Students are invited to bring in and share any "space" facts during this time.
Marshfields' students again proved they are exceptionally well behaved when on a school trip. Well done year 7.
