Marshfields School

A Positive Choice

Core Beliefs Day Tuesday 29th January 2019

Marshfields students took part in Core Beliefs day by looking at five religions.

Christianity, through whole school assembly. Kindly visited by Rev'd Simon Kaye (Christ the Carpenter Church) who share his own version of the 'Good Samaritan'. The school band played and students reflected on 'kindness' and what this means in their own lives.

Wellbeing house visited the Sri Guru Sabha Gurdwara learning about Sikhism.

Invention house had a visit to Bharat Hindu Samaj learning about the Hindu religion.

Discovery house enjoyed a visit to Faizan e Madina Mosque learning about Islam.

And Endeavour house had a lovely time learning about Judaism with a guest speaker Janet Berkman.

Students reflected on their learning during afternoon circle time and here are just some of their comments:

'It was amazing, I liked actually seeing where people go'

'I liked the sharing of food'

'I felt really calm'

'The day was tricky, I had to concentrate'

'It was fun'

'Basically all religions want people to be kind to each other’
