On Wednesday 15th November all Post 16 students visited The Transition Event at The Holiday Inn.
This event is designed to get as many services our students may need in the future all under one roof, everything from work/volunteering/life opportunities to assistance when they decide to leave home or indeed an assisted holiday with friends NO PARENTS!.
There was also a chance to chat with some people with additional needs and learn how they have learned to adapt and be successful, this guy Patrick Samuel uses art to help him speak to large conferences about the effect Asperger’s has on his mental health and life in general.
Students were encouraged to collect stickers from the exhibitors which ensured they engaged with as many different agencies as possible.
This event was also available to parents so it was a very busy room and our students conducted themselves well.
